the past year has been an interesting one, besides finally letting go of a house Ive been wanting to let go of, moving from harlem into an apartment in uptown nyc, and basically changing what has Ive been used to for the last 5 years, there has been some really interesting projects. From collaborating my artwork with Matt Hales of the band, Aqualung on the CD of the new Magnetic North with the Verve Music Group again, , to curating a The Conversations Art Show at AudioEngine In NYC (where an episode of Trumps Celebrity Apprentice was filmed and shown this past season on NBC), to continuing the development of the Playing With Actors show, celebrating our first anniversary at the east side venue, The Scratcher, my paintings were used on set of the play, In The Wake by Lisa Kron at the Public Theater, then there was a solo show: New Paintings by Jimmie James, which were collection of paintings on canvas at 571 Projects in Chelsea, NYC this past november, my acting career was furthered with the help of the About Artists Agencys' Renee Glicker including appearances on Law and Order and Boardwalk Empire....much support and presense by the art website, Artdoxa, based in Germany, l worked with HSI, a housing and services org for the NYC homeless help with their socialization of the clients from my experience with the arts/music/theater.. and as far as the music is concerned,wrote and recorded some new material, collaborated some with my son, Chris Shannon (Shanny) on his recordings, and then, of course, were all the paintings of this past year..if you know anything about me , me loves to paint.
