Jim has been an active Partner of a private venture capital company, First Growth Management, Inc. (“FGM”), since June 2005. First Growth Management invests primarily in small, growth-based businesses, mid-sized asset-based organizations and early stage public companies. FGM is dedicated to helping outstanding entrepreneurs build successful companies, offering valuable resources including capital, management, governance, marketing, public relations and a wide network of contacts in many industries.In addition, for over 5 years, Jim served as President and Chief Financial Officer of Modu-Loc Fence Rentals LP, Canada's largest provider of temporary fence and fence accessories for the events and construction industries. In this role, Jim was responsible for the oversight of the business and mitigating business and financial risks, development of leadership and talent, financial planning and reporting, as well as corporate governance. As a member of Modu-Loc’s Executive Leadership Team, he was also involved in longer-term strategic planning. From 2008 to 2013, Jim served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Paramount Pallet, Inc., the largest supplier of wooden pallet solutions in Canada. Prior to that, Jim spent 3 years as the company’s Chief Financial Officer.Jim is a CPA, CA who currently lives in Toronto with his wife, and two daughters. He is an avid wine collector, and enjoys travelling and playing golf and tennis.
