Beginning January 2023, I will be working as a senior associate in the audit practice at MarksNelson LLC.

Worked as an associate in the audit practice at MarksNelson. During my time in this role, I became proficient in Microsoft Excel, IDEA, AdvanceFlow. I also developed a technical understanding of GAAP as it applied to our clients and worked to ensure they understood new accounting guidances during adoption. I worked with firms of all sizes primarily in the manufacturing and distribution sector, as well as (to a lesser extent) firms in the construction industry. In the department, I joined the culture committee and was responsible for playing a role in employee satisfaction and communicating concerns or compliments to management.

Worked side by side with the directors of the CLASS+ (Centers for Learning and Student Success) to facilitate scheduling of supplemental instruction classes, led weekly meetings with team mentors, evaluated SI leader quality, conducted interviews for new hires, and evaluated applicants and interviewees for teaching positions.

In addition to teaching 5-7 weekly classrs with 10-20 students, as a team mentor I lead weekly meetings with other basic economics SI leaders to ensure structure, organization, and quality of learning experience for students of my co-workers classes. This position was an absolute blessing because I was able to both teach and mentor other teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the SI program during my tenure as an undergraduate.

I taught basic economics classes each week throughout the semester. On average I had 5 classes per week with 10-20 students per class. I was responsible for covering material taught in lecture, helping students to understand difficult or new concepts, and communicating with faculty on the students struggles and successes. I also kept track of and entered student grades for my class weekly.
