As QRA’s General Manager of Resilience and Recovery, I leading a team of dedicated recovery and resilience officers, supporting Queenslanders prepare for, recover from and build resilience to disaster events.I also coordinate the implementation of the Queensland Strategy for Disaster Resilience, putting Queensland at the leading edge of recovery and resilience policy nationally and internationally in support of our communities.

As QRA’s General Manager of Resilience, I coordinate the implementation of the Queensland Strategy for Disaster Resilience. To this end, I also lead QRA policy development, ensuring that Queensland is at the leading edge of recovery and resilience policy nationally and internationally in support of our communities.

I led the delivery of natural disaster reconstruction programs throughout Queensland in line with State Government priorities and local community needs.

I took responsibility for QRA's assessment function, ensuring that Queensland's reconstruction program delivered value for money in complaince with Commonwealth and State eligibility requirements.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO, I was selected to lead a project team responsible for the close out and acquittal of Queensland's largest reconstruction program, following Severe Tropical Cyclone Yasi, and the 2011 Queensland floods.

I managed the post-approval function of QRA, responsible for managing the reconstuction program for disasters prior to 2011, as well as approval variations and acquittals for all natural disaster reconstruction program.

Seconded to the Northern Territory government, I provided high level advice to the Project Steering Committee for the implementation of a grants management system.

Working for the former Department of Local Government and Planning, I managed and provided leadership to a team of four, and represented the Department and Division on intra and inter-Departmental committees and working groups. I also ensured the Funding Unit’s compliance with legislative and Departmental policy and procedure requirements in relation to administrative, budgetary, financial and other operational issues and developed procedures and systems where required.
