The eGovernment Payments Council (eGPC) is an industry council that focuses on the business, policy, and operating issues involved in government electronic payment programs. The council is a public-private partnership consisting of state government agencies, federal government agencies, EBT processors, non-profit advocates, consulting firms, equipment and card manufacturers, and technology companies.

We imagine a world where the 25 million American families living on less than $25,000/year benefit as much from technology as the well off. Through Significance Labs (which has since been rebranded as Blue Ridge Labs @Robin Hood Foundation), I hired a team of developers and designers to build technology for the underserved. We conducted in-depth user research to better understand the challenges faced by low-income Americans, we prototyped like crazy, and we shipped our MVP in just under three months. We ended up helping about 200 New Yorkers apply for food stamps in August 2014.We're continuing our work as a for-profit software company called Propel.

I was the product lead for Facebook Groups, a product used by over 7% of the global population every month. Developed a new method of measuring advertisement latency with JavaScript and PHP. Created a script to run on nearly all content pages served by Yahoo. Built several prototypes and shipped a pilot. As a side project, fixed several bugs in Yahoo's smush.it image compression service.

Worked on a seismic data analysis tool, primarily written in Java. Spent the summer implementing features, carving out performance wins, and generally wrapping my head around version control, dependency management, performance, etc. Learned a lot.
