Dissertation on hybrid silicon/organic heterojunction solar cells. Device fabrication, design and solar cell testing methods. Member of QESST engineering research center and worked in UD Nanofab facility as well as NSF iCorps entrepreneurial progam.

• Constructed and characterized electrical circuits used in taking 4-point resistance measurements for screening cells in a microfluidic channel based on surface cell markers.• Wrote the LabVIEW programs used by the lab to acquire and analyze data generated by these devices in real-time, allowing for identification of cells exhibiting specific surface markers.• Created an automated STORM high-speed molecular imaging environment. This uses an ARM-based microcontroller for flexible control of camera and laser timing, and uses LabVIEW for image acquisition, image processing, and control of a piezoelectric stage.

• Assisted with fabrication of microfluidic devices using techniques including electron-beam lithography, traditional photolithography, plasma bonding, and sputtering of metal contacts.• Writing LabVIEW programs to handle cell identification through surface cell markers.

• Worked on solar array testing and design for two solar vehicles.• Performed energy calculations and wrote solar cell modeling software in MATLAB for calculating expected solar IV curves.• Headed initial design of power distribution and safety system for newest car, including PCB design for power cutoff board.• Gained experience in machining, building and testing electronics, Kevlar composites work, team organization, and constructing a website.
