Supervised five personnel who administered the unit’s performance reports, decorations, upgrade training, weight management/fitness program, correspondence, disciplinary/separation actions, & drug/alcohol abuse programs. Oversaw the health, morale & welfare programs of unit, consisting of over 500 military & civilian personnel.- Chartered and led unit volunteer program! Inspired over 400 volunteers to give their time & energy to multiple opportunities, unit garnered the recognition as the Delaware Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Award for 2002.- Established expected goals & assessed overall performance in reaching these objectives. - Established, revised, & reviewed policies, procedures, mission objectives, & organizational design for the staff, as necessary, to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response with regulatory compliance &/or customer requirements. - Approved leave & work schedules, setting performance standards & conducting formal/informal appraisals of individual & flight performance. - Reviewed/evaluated performance indicators, training requirements, directing accomplishment of the training, & evaluating results. - Counseled employees regarding problems & complaints, resolving informal complaints through discussion & negotiation with employees, supervisors & union representatives. - Mediated problems between work centers, initiating & reviewing proposals for disciplinary action, when necessary. - Achieved the objectives of government-wide policies/programs within the unit, such as Equal Employment Opportunity, Labor-Management Relations. - Reviewed/approved reports & records, ensuring periodic reviews were made of position descriptions for currency & accuracy. - Represented senior officials at senior staff meetings, conferences, & other forums.
