Also I am responsible for operating the 428XL instrument which is used to acquire all seismic data. This in turn directly effects the entire project costs as the data acquired is the final deliverable. Any mistakes made can be extremely detrimental as the cost of acquisition is very high with the crew being helicopter portable. This has to be operated in conjunction with department logistics on a daily basis in an every changing environment. The observer must supervise all line supervisors whose tasks are outlined below. On each project the observer generates the final deliverable to the client which consists of several departments, Recording, Drilling, Bridging, Survey and line cutting.
