In 1983, the Tcherepnin Society offered Jim his first contracting job at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall. After the success of the evening, Jim knew his calling: secure top-notch ensembles to perform at world-class venues. For over 40 years, Jim has continued this dream career, and it remains one of his greatest joys and accomplishments.Jim worked as Orchestra Personnel Manager of the NJ Symphony and served as the House Contractor for the NJPAC. The NJPAC produced performances ranging from fully-staged productions of My Fair Lady, The Rat Pack, The King & I, & Some Like it Hot, to other single engagements with Johnny Mathis, Bernadette Peters, Chris Botti, Spike Lee, and many more!Jim became Music Coordinator with Town Square Productions. He worked on A Tale of Two Cities, the musical, opening at the Asolo Repertory Theater in Sarasota, Florida, and the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in NYC, as well as the Off-Broadway production of smash-hit Disenchanted! the musical.As a Music Contractor & Coordinator, Jim has enjoyed working with Phil Ehart (original drummer and manager) on the 50th Anniversary Tour with Rock band KANSAS. Jim has also enjoyed a working collaboration with Chicago based, AWR Music, as well as MGP-Live based in New York City, on many tours, including Game of Thrones, Hans Zimmer Live, The WHO Moving On, The WHO Hits Back, “Weird Al” Yankovic Strings Attached, Video Games Live, Hugh Jackman: The Man, The Music, The Show as well as The Legend of Zelda, Symphony of the Goddesses, Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy, Assassin’s Creed, The Godfather 50th Anniversary Tour, The Batman 2022, Batman 1989 35th Anniversary Tour, and The SONIC Symphony. Jim’s teamed up as Orchestra Supervisor and Coordinator with Japan based company, SOHO-LIVE. The Stardew Valley Festival of Season World Tour will produce 64 performances in 13 countries over a six-month period. The tour includes dates in The United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, The United Kingdom, Scotland, New Zealand, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, and The Philippines.Jim worked with Bureau Betak, coordinating and producing the music, commercial, and webcast of the unveiling of uniforms worn at the Brazil 2016 Summer Olympics. Other productions include Prequell, The NIKE Innovation Summit 2016, the famous desert concerts for Michelin Tires in Palm Springs, CA, the New York Fashion Show with Michael Kors, and the festivities surrounding the opening of APPLE TV.Jim is the author of four books: Onward and Upward, Center Stage, Visitors from the Past, and Music Is In Our Blood.

He has been a working percussionist as well as an international music contractor and orchestra personnel manager for more than 35 years, working closely with some of the best-known names in the industry. From classical artists André Watts and Yo-Yo-Ma, to such contemporary artists as Huge Jackman and The Who, Neglia covers the entire gamut of music production and performance.During his career, he performed with The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, The New York City Opera, Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus, and performed live on the radio program All Things Considered. He has made various recordings for RCA, Decca, Albany, and Leonarda Records. Jim's career also took him abroad, working in 27 countries as a solo and orchestral percussionist. He has appeared and performed in the motion pictures I love NY with Christopher Plummer and Joe Gould's Secret with Stanley Tucci.After writing his autobiographical books, Onward and Upward and Center Stage, Neglia took a break from writing about the on-stage portion of his life to concentrate on the off-stage, collector's side. During the pandemic of 2020, Neglia published Visitors from the Past, where he shares his collection of visiting cards of famous composers, conductors, and instrumentalists. Neglia's collection is the most extensive collection in the world.Currently, Jim keeps a busy schedule as an orchestra personnel manager and international music coordinator.
