Assistant Director - Strategic Business Initiatives
CurrentPartner with the CFO and other members of senior management to drive initiatives and support achievement of the organization’s mission. In this role, I develop and oversee numerous long-term budget/financial plans with a special emphasis on revenue related items. As the acting financial representative on the NAIC’s Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), I oversee the financial aspect of strategic initiatives and regulatory based projects by reviewing the requests with business partners to determine the cost/benefit to the organization and to assess ten-year life project costs.Data Analysis & Forecasting: Utilize strong analytical skills to identify issues and extract meaningful insights that are used to better understand and improve business performance. This data analysis forecasts financial performance including balance sheet and income statement impact for numerous multi-year projects and initiatives. Financial Results: Proven experience in budgeting, strategic forecasting, and in overseeing certain financial, accounting, and risk management aspects of our complex organization.Revenue Oversight: Oversee the intra-company cost allocation of significant technology expenditures and manage numerous revenue lines (accounting for $18M+ in annual revenue), directly budget and forecasting for another $50M+ in annual revenue as well as coordinate with the CFO to assess remaining revenue lines to ensure sufficient funding is available to meet organizational needs.Strategic Development: Direct certain strategic procurement activities (i.e., national CEO search and other significant Request for Proposals).Project Expansion: Own several other annual key financial projects with subsequent presentations to the Audit Committee – examples include the Loss Operating Reserve, forecasted revenue needs, recommended product pricing, and many others.
