    I was first appointed to the Commission by Gov. Jay Inslee on July 17, 2018, to represent Eastern Washington. On, April 15, 2019, the Washington State Senate voted unanimously to confirm my appointment. My commission expires on June 30, 2024. In July of 2023, I was elected by my peers to serve as Vice Chairman of the Commission and again, in May of 2024. On June 11, 2024, Gov. Jay Inslee, re-appointed me to the Commission, My commission expires on June 30, 2030. The Washington State Transportation Commission is an independent seven-member body appointed by the governor (and confirmed by the State Senate) and charged with setting toll rates, ferry fares, authoring the state’s 20-year transportation plan, and advising the governor and legislature on transportation policy and fiscal matters. YVCOG is a membership organization that is funded by Federal, State, local resources, member dues, and professional service contracts. Founded in 1966, the YVCOG provides a forum for our members to address regional issues for 14 cities and Yakima County. Since 1978, the YVCOG has served as the MPO and RTPO for Yakima County. We are a regional agency with the ability to conduct any activity that can be legally assigned or contracted to perform projects of mutual concern under the Interlocal Cooperation Act.
