Jim Rossi is the Judge D.L. Lansden Chair in Law at Vanderbilt University School of Law. He teaches and writes on various issues at the intersection of economic regulation and administrative law, with a particular emphasis on energy law. He previously served as Associate Dean for Research and Harry M. Walborsky Professor at Florida State University College of Law, and has served as a visiting professor at the Harvard and Texas law schools. His research includes work on economic and legal barriers to sustainable and renewable energy development, as well as federalism and competition in energy markets. He is co-author of Energy, Economics and the Environment (Foundation Press, 4th ed. 2015) and Regulatory Bargaining and Public Law (Cambridge University Press, 2006). He also is a recognized scholar in administrative law, and has written articles on defects with deliberative group decisionmaking processes, judicial review and federalism. Along with James Gardner, he is the co-editor of the book, New Frontiers of State Constitutional Law: Dual Enforcement of Norms (Oxford University Press 2010).
