Project Manager
CurrentJim is both a registered professional geologist and a certified engineering geologist. He has been involved in consulting for over 12 years performing engineering geologic exploration and analysis on projects in California and Arizona. He has been project manager on numerous large master-planned communities, major infrastructure improvements, power plants, canals, major road and utility alignments, bridges, downtown high-rise developments, public education facilities, hospitals, military facilities, libraries and churches, environmental mitigation sites, and commercial and industrial developments. He has extensive experience designing and conducting field explorations to produce detailed geologic mapping and imaging of subsurface stratigraphy for fault studies, development of groundwater data, landslide and slope stability analysis, and development of foundation bearing data. Jim has evaluated geologic hazards such as landslides, faulting and ground rupture, seismicity, and soil liquefaction for project sites. Jim is responsible for supervising Staff Geologists, Staff Engineers, and Field Technicians on his projects. Due to his extensive field experience, Jim typically trains new professionals in geologic mapping, drilling and sampling methods, and trench logging. He also provides peer reviews of geotechnical reports for both content and quality.
