Jim is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the DePaul University College of Law. He currently serves as the Managing Partner of Chilton Yambert Porter’s Workers’ Compensation Litigation Department. Jim's practice focuses primarily on aggressively defending all employers throughout Illinois. CYP is a Chicago based civil litigation defense law firm. This mid-sized law firm has two fully staffed Illinois offices to assist in defending all Illinois claims on behalf of its clients. Due to client demand, the firm added a fully staffed office there to defend its clients for Wisconsin related matters. Member of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Lawyer’s Association & Illinois State Bar Association. He served as an Arbitrator for the Cook County Mandatory Arbitration Program. He served as a judge for the National Mock Trial Competition sponsored by The Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He has been honored by his peers as a 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 Leading Lawyer.Due to excellent results on behalf of his clients, his commitment to clients, and his reputation, Jim was selected and appointed Special Assistant State's Attorney in 2008 to defend workers' compensation claims for the County of DuPage, IL.
