About Jim Seybert

Jim Seybert is an award-winning audiobook narrator with more than 100 titles to his credit. His “serious voice with a twinkle in its eye” has recorded books for major publishers, smaller houses, and independent authors in categories ranging from historical fiction to critical social issues. He records in a professionally-designed home studio minutes from the Pacific Ocean near Pismo Beach, CA. In addition to narrating, Jim is a member of a musical improv ensemble and the long-time PA Announcer for a collegiate summer baseball team. He serves as an alternate delegate on the National SAGAFTRA Audiobook Steering Committee and is a member of the Audiobook Publishers Association. Personal StatementAbove all, I'm at my best telling stories. First-person narrative is a sweet spot. I am a character actor at heart. Becoming someone else? OH YEAH. Political junkie and former news anchor (in the 70s). Reported on the Nixon tapes, interviewed Ted Kennedy during an American Indian protest at Fort Laramie, WY. If it was in the news between 1974 and 1992, I probably read about it, on-air. Life isn't just recording - I love to cook for large groups, hike in the Sierra Nevada, listen to Classic Rock and Classical music, and take naps with my 13-year old Chihuahua. Fun Fact: In the summer of 2021 I was named "The Voice of Stone Skipping on ESPN" when I did play-by-play for the International Stone Skipping Tournament (Johnny Heller was my color analyst). One more: I am a NATIVE San Franciscan. My Dad was a Motorman (pulled the levers) on a Cable Car when I was a little kid. Shakespeare said life’s a stage, I see life as a continuous series of stories just waiting for someone (perhaps me) to give them a voice.
