Vice president of IT at American Express and Unum, CIO at the State of Maine and Sun Life Financial. As CIO for the State of Maine, I worked with 16 state Agencies to promote governance and project management best practices (agile), champion Agency projects, and to evolve areas such as mobile computing, disaster recovery, and cyber security. In addition, we introduced Business Process Management (BPM) software and practices to give the agencies more control and transparency, and to reduce manual, paper-bound processes. I have extensive experience in outsourcing to multiple countries, and I have developed technology support centers for two companies in Ireland. During my career, I have led multiple acquisition and merger efforts in the insurance and financial industries. Additionally, I have led departments promoting: innovation, understanding the next phase of distance learning, and vendor management. I am very involved with working with schools and universities to build the workforce of the future. Currently, I serve on the Maine Robotics Board and the Maine Cyber Security Cluster.
