His vision is to build marketing services firm from the ground up that is unencumbered by any “old school” legacy and to build it in a way that would address issues client-side marketers have identified as lacking in many current agency models:• Strong selling ideas grounded in strategy that drive proven business results• The integration of the increasing numbers of communication channels under a single selling platform• Accountability supported by hard metrics• A nimble and cost efficient organization While Jim is a chief strategy officer at heart, at Blackbird we eschew titles, and Jim likes to be known as the agency EIEIO. Prior to founding Blackbird, Jim spent 19 years at Della Femina Advertising and was the President and Chief Strategy Officer for the last 7 of those. In his role there, he developed the agency’s proprietary planning tool: AdCepts™, used for strategic planning for all agency clients including Viagra, Ernst & Young, Carvel, Purdue Pharma, Marsh & McLennan, S&P, Pentax, StarKIst and others.
