My road to becoming a Certified Financial Planner(R) and a 401(k) advisor has been a winding one. After graduating from the Kentucky Governor's School for the Arts, and later from the University of Kentucky's Theatre program, I always felt destined to inspire people. Early on in my financial planning career, I found my calling in 401(k) advising. Not only do I get to design 401(k) plans that help 1000s of people, but I also get to inspire people to reach their goals through financial wellness.As I continue to fine tune my art of creating financial wellness programs, I keep finding the same issues...finances just are not fun for employees. Budgeting is a chore, reaching retirement feels like trying to swim across an ocean, and talking with a financial advisor is scarier than any Stephen King novel. So, most would avoid it all together. More often than not, this lack of interest towards financial wellness negatively impacts employees, weighing them down in their life and at their job. But I found out that it didn't have to be that way. Through engagement, personalization and just keeping things simple, I inspire people to want to work towards achieving financial wellness. Whether it be 1-on-1 advising sessions, group webinars, HQ videos, or in-person presentations, the key is creating a comfortable environment, with non-intimidating advisors who actually care about their success.To put it simply, I'm not your typical 401(k) advisor and am looking forward to proving it.
