At CIT I built and supported IT systems for a college with 1,500 staff and 15,000+ students. We were constantly rolling out computer labs and systems for staff/students/research units. Got to experience the Y2K bug, dot.com glory days and all the things we forget about 1990s IT.

As the Architect for Enterprise Networks (Campus, Data Centres, Broadcast Networks) at BSkyB I had an involvement in most network projects. I also performed a front of house role interfacing with Sky's core businesses representing Sky Networks. I worked closely with senior management to propose the projects we should undertake and define the technology.

For most of my years at Sky I was the technical lead on the design, build, and integration of their mission critical Broadcast Network platforms that support Sky's core entertainment products. My most notable projects were the design and build of the media networks that support Sky's move to tapeless workflows and Sky Studios which is Sky's Media Data.

During my time at Eircom for Enterprise I was exposed to almost 50 customer networks across all industry verticals. In most cases I was the Technical lead for delivery of network projects.I got exposed to everything from Bids/Pre-Sales to Design/Build to support/escalation. The 2 customers I did most work for in Ireland were Pfizer (Worlds Largest Pharma).
