A wide range of sessions Foundations for Collaborative Work Environments through the Beedie School of Business, A Team Approach to Managing Projects at the Engineering Graduate level, and currently courses in the Project Management, Business Analysis, and Business Management Certificate programs.All very different faculties - undergraduate intake, graduate level participants and adult learners - but surprisingly similar content - we all benefit through increased collaboration skills in the workplace and in life, and it is readily apparent that these skills are not adequately addressed in the traditional educational system - which is why these courses stand out as valuable for participants and differentiated from the mainstream.

Provide team-based project management training and facilitation support for clients in a wide range of domains.

I facilitated the team projects in the award winning Project Management Certificate program at UBC's Continuing Studies at Robson Square for both the Intensive and Core streams of students, and wrote two of the 6 modules for the online version of the PM Certificate program (PM Essentials and Teamwork in the Project Environment).

Developed and provided 2 of 3 core courses in the final year of the Computing B.Tech program (Technical and Management Issues in Software Development). Supervised several student/industry practicum projects, and acted as a client (Clarrus) for several practicum projects.

I managed the services division to provide support to clients across North America, including process-related training and mentoring, assessments and audits. This included the development and refinement of consulting packages, and in-the-field deployment, working directly with clients.Additionally, I provided public training in Quality Assurance, Software Estimation, Project Management, Software Requirements, and General Best-Practices.

I drove the software development for the majority of the staff at Ensemble, including the development of a Regression Test Suite for a major OO Modeling tool. I was also involved in the development and maintenance of Ensemble’s software products, and the definition the internal software development practices.

After 3 years with Prior Data Sciences , I moved to Hughes and continued on the Canadian Automated Air Traffic Control project with several leadership roles on the Air Traffic Applications team. I played a key role on a tiger team to devise a workable project planning strategy for the program, and successfully drove the tactical planning of the entire development effort for a 6-month period. Ongoing participation on the SEPG for the program (internally assessed at CMM Level 3 - let's talk...). Finally, I coordinated the software builds for the project and managed interim builds to allow developers to progress effectively.

From January 1991 I worked on the CAATS project in Richmond, BC. After two years of requirements analysis for, I played a key role in the successful conversion of the project from a waterfall lifecycle to an iterative development lifecycle.With PRIOR in Kanata, I consulted to DND in an intense preliminary design review of a naval helicopter restraint system and coordinated the successful proposal bid for an upgrade project for Transport Canada. I also worked with a short-staffed team in Ottawa to deliver an interface for Transport Canada’s current radar system early and under budget.
