He served as CEO of the company from its founding in 2001 through 2015, when the company sold its data business to FactSet, its events business to Informa and finally, in 2016, its publications businesses to Bats (now CBOE).Jim currently heads up Donostia Ventures, an investment and consulting firm, and lives happily with his wife and children in San Sebastian, Spain (where he's lived all but 2 years from 2001 to present).

In 2015, the company's data business was sold to FactSet. Later that year, the events business was sold to Informa, and continues under the Inside ETFs brand. Jim worked at Informa through August of 2016. In early 2016, ETF.com and our ETF Report publication were sold to Bats (now CBOE). The managing committee of holding company IndexUniverse LLC was wound down in 2017. Jim now heads up an investing and consulting company know as Donostia Ventures and has started a new data publications and events business focused on impact investing known as OneSpark. -
