After more than 20 years of broadcasting experience as part of the Philippines’ biggest multimedia network ABS-CBN, I keep on with my mission in empowering audiences with reliable and practical content in the digital realm. I currently maintain an impressive presence across social media platforms most especially on Facebook—where I engage with 1 million followers and counting. Using these innovations in connecting to Filipinos from all corners of the globe, I strive to promote my advocacies concerning health, family, youth empowerment, and public service.I’d like to believe I’m a journalist with a big heart. Having dreamt of helping people as a doctor in my youth, I instead entered the path of reportage. I switched thoughts of working in healthcare with relaying information every family truly needs. I’ve always been a believer of the “family”—because only with every family that is safe, healthy, and happy that a community grows and a nation stands.In 2016, a few years approaching my golden year, I finally found the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to integrate journalism and public service. While still doing news and current affairs, I was invited to be the Program Director of Bantay Bata 163—ABS-CBN Foundation’s initiative since 1997 that launched the first and only 24-7 hotline dedicated to protecting vulnerable Filipino children. Under the tutelage of venerated environmentalist and public servant Gina Lopez who would pass on in my tenure, I successfully captained income generating campaigns that then led to some of Bantay Bata’s biggest projects including the reopened Children’s Village in 2018.Having lived and toiled in these two worlds (journalism and public service) has only inspired me to launch Tita Jing Online in 2021. At the wake of the pandemic, I found the digital portal as my next big platform in bridging Filipinos worldwide to valuable health, lifestyle, and advocacy-related content ... a la your friendly “tita” (auntie) next door whom you would seek for advice regarding matters close to the heart. Through collaborations with brands and institutions from both public and private sectors, I use this new passion project to relay key messages and tell inspiring stories that will ultimately help shape and better our society.Join this Tita on her mission!
