Initiated and led in discovering three series of novel Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF) inhibitors and analyzing/selecting preclinical candidates as potential drugs for treating autoimmune disease and metastasis. Identified leads with desired profile (potency, bioavailability, and metabolic stability) through hands-on in vitro enzymatic assay and microsomal stability/degradation studies, generated patentability. Managed and led project as a key process chemist in the development of a novel polymer-based prodrug as a potentially safer and more efficacious medication for treating pain.
