Researching methodology and implementing simulation studies on topics motivated by problems commercing in oncology trials, which includes- Enrollment and event projection in oncology trials. Developed poisson-gamma model for non-homogeneous enrollment process using Empirical Bayesian methodology and integrated with the exponential and weibull survivals to predict the event time; Assessed the robustness of the model by extensive simulation studies; Applied the model to real data in an oncology trial and achieved sufficient accuracy to improve the planning and facilitate monitoring the trial milestones.- Studied the confounding effects involving the progression-free survival and overall survival. Explored the various seniors of prolonged post-progression survival time; Performed simulation studies to assess their impact on the results of overall survivalOther internship experiences include:- Reviewed trial protocols, case report forms and statistical analysis plan, participated the routine trial meetings and got exposure to the on-going trial activities.- Provided statistical support to address FDA post-submission urgent requests for Nevarapine XR in treating HIV patients.- Studied FDA ICH guidance documents; reviewed FDA draft guidance on non-small cell lung cancer drugs and biologics and provided feedbacks to the intern supervisor.
