It involves License Plate Extraction using object detection and License Plate Recognition with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Long short-term memory (LSTM), and Optical Character Recognition (OCR). The aim is to match license plate information with registration records to identify associated registration books.Accomplishments:- Gather a diverse dataset of images containing vehicles with license plates and Extract the text from the license plates and label them for training the OCR model.- Utilize YOLOv5 for object detection to localize license plates within images due to its speed and accuracy.- Choose an OCR model suitable for reading text from license plates. Options include CRNN (Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network) or Transformer-based models.- Employ a standard image classification model, such as a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network), for province classification.- Evaluate the performance of the trained models using appropriate metrics. For object detection, metrics like mAP (mean Average Precision) can be used. For OCR, accuracy, precision, and recall are essential. For image classification, accuracy is a standard metric.- Integrate the trained models into a cohesive system for license plate recognition.
