Karnataka Digital Economy Mission(KDEM), an initiative of the Government of Karnataka, is designed to function as the knowledge bridge between the Government of Karnataka and industry to accelerate growth and investments in the Information Technology sector in Karnataka (state’s IT, BT, and S&T sectors). Endeavoring to contribute US$300 billion to the prime minister’s vision of a US$1 trillion digital economy, KDEM plays a critical role in supporting technology investments, uncovering technology opportunities through research, structuring promotional efforts abroad, providing feedback on policy, and forming strategic roadmaps. The organization’s ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ imitative seeks to maximise the economic potential of emerging cities/regions outside the state capital by enabling their organic growth and inviting investments for start-ups/enterprises.My primary engagement is to:1. Foster stronger collaboration between industry and academia to drive joint initiatives in research, development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and the establishment of Centers of Excellence (COEs).2. Serve as a key industry liaison, engaging thought leaders and industry experts to participate in events and strategic initiatives.3. Actively create employment opportunities for graduates, supporting the mission of KDEM and contributing to talent development in Karnataka.4. Promote KDEM and Government of Karnataka initiatives on a global scale.It’s an exciting journey that carries significant responsibility.
