Jithin is an ecologist and educational researcher, currently working as a research fellow at the Nature Conservation Foundation-India, in the Community Ecology and Restoration (CEROS) Lab. His current research focuses on the ecology and conservation of rock outcrops in India. He is a trained ecologist from the Wildlife Institute of India (Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Govt. of India), also holding a B.Sc. Degree in Botany from the University of Calicut (Farook College, Kozhikode). He founded Kerala’s biggest students’ ecological festival, ‘Myristica’, that experimented with a trans-disciplinary approach to formal environmental education. He was a Project Oriented Biology Education Fellow of the Jawaharlal Nehru Center for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore (Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India); and Principal Investigator of the Royal Society of Chemistry-funded project on inclusion of women in Kerala’s Chemistry field.
