Working for CGI-NL, I support ESA’s system integration and verification activities for the service provision and ground segment of Europe’s global navigational satellite system “Galileo”.• Led system-level integration and testing, on supplier sites, client sites and involving system end-users throughout Europe.• Liaison for the system’s stakeholders, communicating at all knowledge levels, from end-users and operators, to the system design authorities and suppliers. • Board member in the verification control board, non-conformance review board and engineering board. Provided root cause analysis of anomalies to these boards and followed up with corrective actions.• Board member in major milestone reviews such as preliminary design review (PDR), critical design review (CDR) and post-test reviews (PTR).• Established and verified system technical requirement baselines (STRB) and requirement verification matrices (RVM) for system and element level requirements.• Executed end-to-end satellite compatibility testing for the service provision, including RF distribution to the receiver. • Developed test cases and test procedures for end-to-end system testing of ground infrastructure.

Working for CGI-NL, This role involved steering evolutions on the Galileo Security Facility, status of the space segment and analysing security policy on behalf of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA, formerly GSA). • Observer in system review boards.• Created reference materials for system-level architecture.• Created operational policy for system operators.

This role involved the deployment of components built by CGI-NL and CGI-UK to client sites and operational sites in Germany, France and Italy. • Deployed software and hardware to operational sites and client sites. • Provided on-site support during critical operations and tests.• Performed on-site and in-factory anomaly investigations.

I joined CGI in February 2017 with a software engineering masterclass. This masterclass included an Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) course for Java. The rest of the masterclass was focussed on agile devlopment and general software engineering practices. After the masterclass and before starting with Galileo. I worked on some of the EO projects maintained by the space department.

I spent a short time in Munich on a temporary assignment with the Roadside assistance services. Work here involved answering customer calls to deploy offered services. In addition to this, the munich office was responsible for internal translation services between Dutch, English and German.

Mission and system design of a visual and infrared imager for use aboard a microsatellite. The satellite was launched in late 2018 with the designed payload aboard. Public images can be found on the F’SATI twitter.• Designed mission objectives for an in-space visual and infrared imager.• Performed systems engineering study to assemble the imager from commercial-off-the-shelf components.• Developed test plan for imager.

The Hague

Whilst working as a student driver, I worked with a design team in the startup gCar/gCab. I performed the design of lightweight vehicle doors for electric car, in co-operation with a design team at TU Twente.• Designed vehicle doors, using a vehicle configuration analysis and optimising for mass.• Performed structural engineering analysis for static and dynamic load scenarios.• Prototyped vehicle doors and displayed results during “Dutch Design Week 2014”.

Delft

Designed the power plant (wind-turbine) for the wind-powered vehicle “Anemo” which participated in an annual student race “Racing Aeolus”. My improved design improved vehicle performance by up to 30%.• Created a model of the wind-powered-vehicle dynamics, to optimize the power plant dynamics.• Created a blade-element-method calculator in Matlab to perform the iterative process and output turbine blade geometry.• Manufactured, tested and integrated turbine blades into the vehicle.

The Hague

gCab was a small start-up company in the Hague and Amsterdam, providing taxi and tourism services with lightweight electric vehicles. During my time, employees at the company varied and many new employees appeared for a short term. This required quick training, instructional and management skills for the longer term employees. I was also able to apply my engineering skills for maintenance and repairs to the vehicles. Furthermore, I developed a driver tracking system according to industry regulations.
