As a Japan Lead at Korea Future:• Executed a project involving investigative interviews with Zainichi Korean victims who had endured human rights abuses within the North Korean penal system.• Orchestrated all aspects of the North Korean human rights project in Japan, including its design, implementation, and M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) processes, ensuring adherence to the highest standards.• Engaged in targeted policy advocacy efforts aimed at key stakeholders such as the Japanese government, policymakers, and resident Embassies in Tokyo. These efforts focused on disseminating key findings from the project and advocating for tangible actions• Formulated a general allegation letter based on the primary findings of the project, engaging with the UN Special Procedures to raise global awareness of the issue and prompt action.• Fostered relationships within the Zainichi Korean community in Tokyo and Osaka, particularly focusing on the North Korean escapee demographic, while also establishing networks with other civil society organizations in Japan.
