I developed an outstanding work ethic from a uniquely rural upbringing in the Ozark Mountains and applied it at Stanford University. I am motivated by the abundant resources available in space, as well as the outstanding potential of manufacturing in low earth orbit. At Space Tango I developed electromechanical systems for automated hardware and led projects that procured high-quality scientific data from CubeLabs on the ISS. At Astrobotic I was a mechanical integration specialist for their Peregrine and Griffin lunar landers and led a variety of complex integration efforts. Now, at Astral Materials, we utilize microgravity as a manufacturing tool to produce materials of a quality that cannot be achieved on Earth.

Senior Mechanical Integration & Test Engineer - Landers & SpacecraftAstrobotic Aug 2023 - Mar 2024Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, UsSubject matter expert for the mechanical integration of Astrobotic's Griffin Lunar Lander. Key responsibilities included overseeing the integration of the Griffin primary structure, leading the integration of Griffin's propulsion system, and planning major operations involved with the environmental test campaign. In this position I worked closely with the welding, electrical integration, thermal, structures, power systems, project management, and VIPER Rover teams. -
Consulting Mechanical Integration & Test Engineer - Landers & SpacecraftAstrobotic Aug 2022 - Jul 2023Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, UsMechanical integration specialist for Astrobotic's Peregrine Lunar Lander. In this position I led major integration operations (solar panel, decks, payloads, MGA), led remove before flight (RBF) procedures, took point on late stage mission critical integration operations, and assisted with propulsion system integration, the environmental test campaign, and flight vehicle integration. I worked closely with electrical, thermal, structural and avionics teams to coordinate complex integration schedules alongside the project management team. -
Electrical Systems Engineer - R&DSpace Tango Sep 2020 - Apr 2022Lexington, Kentucky, Us• Lead engineer on the first study of in vitro hematopoietic stem cells in space, in collaboration with the University of California San Diego. This study explores how stem cells exposed to cosmic radiation exhibit accelerated cancerous progression compared to earth, which opens the door to rapid treatment development in the future.• Lead engineer on payload studying bubble dynamics on nanopatterned surfaces in microgravity, in collaboration with University of Notre Dame (my background photo was captured aboard the ISS in June 2021 by a camera I designed). Redesigned existing imaging system to improve video quality and frame rate. Managed customer requirements and expectations, maintained project timeline, and performed full system build-up and validation.• Designed mechanical bracket which eliminated 75+ (over 50%) components from company standard microfluidic assembly.• Integrated microfluidic systems with hundreds of individual components in biosafety cabinet with record of no contamination.• Experience with PCB assembly, troubleshooting, and repair. Knowledge of electronic components, ability to interpret schematics, and experience with electronic systems validation.• Full CubeLab buildup, all-systems testing and validation.• High level of proficiency soldering and reflow soldering.• Harness construction and wire routing management for space-constrained CubeLab payloads. • Experience with design and buildup of optical systems used to remotely capture images and video. -
Project Lead + Researcher AssistantExtreme Environment Microsystems Laboratory (Xlab) Sep 2018 - Jun 2020• Lead engineer developing a Hall-effect sensor prototype to retrofit bucket transformers for active current monitoring in collaboration with Prolec GE.• Maintained open communication with Prolec GE by presenting rolling results and outlining immediate goals.• Planned and executed experiments to test Hall-effect sensors in harsh environments similar to those found in bucket transformers.• Managed XLab team responsible for taking Prolec GE’s proposal from definition to prototype stage. • Reflow soldered PCBs and completed all prototype wiring. • Presented prototype and experimental results to Prolec GE R&D team.• Research findings accepted to IEEE Sensors 2020.

Course Development Assistant: 3D Printed Aerospace StructuresStanford University Apr 2020 - May 2020Stanford, Ca, Us• Designed and delivered supplementary lecture on tolerancing and how to work with machinists. • Supported professor by organizing guest lectures and hosting office hours. -
Lcls Research Support InternSlac National Accelerator Laboratory Jun 2016 - Nov 2018Menlo Park, California, Us• Trained to be a qualified laser operator (QLO) in SLAC’s 50W Tangerine Pulse Lab so that I could run data acquisition for material thermal fatigue project.• Analytically solved for heat distribution from hard X-ray beams through the mirrors that will control the Linac Coherent Light Source II (LCLS II) beamline. These solutions informed and improved the numerical models that were used in the design of these mirrors. • Utilized Solid Edge 8 to design a flexure system to more accurately test the mechanical constraints of eutectic gallium indium. -
Undergraduate Physics Lab AssistantStanford University Sep 2015 - Mar 2018Stanford, Ca, Us• Developed a new Gauss’s Law laboratory experiment in order to provide a more conducive learning environment for undergraduate students.• Construction, upkeep, and organization of all undergraduate physics laboratories in order to keep labs running fully stocked and on time.
