As an Engineering Assistant in the Heat Transfer department (Supervisor: Dr. Hee-Koo Moon) • Mainly investigated the effect of the film cooling injection angle on the nozzle endwall. • Assisted the “Phantom cooling” (second order cooling) study as an effort of maximizing discharge cooling usage• Conducted test set up, calibration, experiment, data reduction and thermal analysis• Completed CFD analysis to study the temperature distribution on the blade• Resolved a filed issue of cracked nozzle stage 2 diaphragm by conducting 2D axisymmetric finite element thermal analysis• Improved the accuracy for pre existing Liquid Crystal data reduction program using Visual Basic 6 and added more functions such as 2D conduction and transient convection analysis
