Short term contract working on key financial and operational projects, reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer. Work included the setup of a new entity in Brisbane and changing the budget process.

Managing the financial accounting function of an ASX200-listed gold explorer, developer and producer. Responsibilities included preparation of consolidated financial statements for a company with mines located in Australia, Solomon Islands and PNG, overseeing the day to day financial activities, preparation of annual corporate budget, preparing monthly reporting which involved analysis of actual performance against budgets and forecasts.

Returned from secondment with Deloitte UK and worked on a combination of external audit and advisory engagements which included two secondments to a Big 4 bank. The first secondment was for 6 months working within Internal Audit to audit the compliance of offshore locations. The second secondment was for 3 months working with the business to assist in the planning for a new IT system as the accounting and finance subject matter expert. Clients included ALH Group, the University of Melbourne, Department of Defence, Boeing Australia, ANZ and NAB.

9 month secondment working within Internal Audit and primarily responsible for two of the largest divisions within Rentokil being Pest and Hygiene. The role involved liaising with the Group CFO and Head of Internal Audit to establish the annual audit plan, to prepare quarterly Audit Committee Reports, to run assurance workshops and assisting those in the business to implement process improvement points.

Transferred from Deloitte Melbourne to Deloitte London on a two year secondment from External Audit to Internal Audit and Risk Management. Clients included Tesco Plc, Rentokil Initial Plc and the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Assignments included management of S404 (SOX) readiness, risk control analysis, process improvement and acting in the role of interim Internal Audit Manager for two PLC companies.

Started with Deloitte as a graduate in 1999 and promoted to Director in December 2005 working on mainly clients in the Consumer Business and Energy sector overseeing an external audit from planning to reporting including preparation and audit of statutory financial statements. Key clients included Cadbury Schweppes and AGL Energy.

Working within Internal Audit to understand the current state of the organisation’s board reporting packs and to recommend areas for improvement. Involved interviews with senior management and C-suite executives and establishing changes requested by key stakeholders

Working within Internal Audit to review the key financial controls in Supermarkets located in South East Asia. Involved planning, co-ordinating, executing and reviewing the audit of these locations
