The Editor-in_Chief position of the Asian Journal of Innovation and Policy, starting from Jan 1, 2020 will provide a new approach to understanding how innovation in science and technology (S&T) can lead to urban and regional innovations. In the fourth industrial revolution era, many S&Ts in the Asian context will be mixed with the Western context. In the ‘glocalized’ world, together with a new Editorial Board, I will focus on how new S&Ts have led regional innovation and what policies could contribute to this change and will need to continue the innovations successfully, increasing the quality of residents and reducing inequality of them in the context of, but not limited to, Asian countries. With working with numerous S&T scholars in Asian countries as well as the U.S. and the E.U., I intend AJIP to contribute to expanding how much local and global innovation and policy expedite economic growth and reduce the poverty gap between regions. As contributing to the traditional S&T fields and urban and regional innovations, the journal will also focus on environmental and health innovations. If your research is associated with S&T policies and innovations, it is highly recommended to submit your original articles to this journal.

I worked some Korean R&D projects based on SNU position with regard to climate change and economic impacts for the future, developing an economic risk assessment model to measure future potential damages stemming from climate change. The current Korean future model has been expanded to be applied to the U.S., the E.U., and global economic models by combining with various satellite information to simulate economic structure changes linked with climate change. I would be happy to consult about probability-based economic model construction with interesting parties.
