Jordan Madden, a senior at Georgia State University from Atlanta, Georgia, is majoring in Public Policy with a concentration in Governance and Management and a minor in English. An active student leader, Jordan is the Student Assistant for The 1913 Society, leads the advisory board, and is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International.Jordan has held roles as an executive and legislative member of the Georgia State Student Government and serves on the student activity fee committee and the mandatory fee committee, advising on fee structures and budget allocations. He is the current constituent services coordinator for State Senator Sonya Halpern (D-39) and formerly interned for the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) in Georgia, where he tracked and analyzed policies, produced advocacy materials, and performed legislative and policy analyses.Jordan served as a nonprofit leader, advocate, and organizer in the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition, notably working to secure early voting locations on college campuses across the state, advocate and lobby state and local legislators on education policy affecting K-college level curriculum, and mobilizing students to share compelling stories that invite others to join the movement. He also served in various previous roles that encompass a wealth of experience and knowledge that he does not take for granted.He comes from a large family with eight siblings and a twin, and has a pet bearded dragon named Draco and two dogs, Neptune and Rodrigo. Outside of his busy schedule, Jordan enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. Deeply rooted in faith, Jordan plans to also answer his call to be a Pastor and work to bring more people to Christ. He is a member of Calvary’s Harvest Baptist Church, where he is beginning his journey into theology and preaching the Bible. While he waits to fulfill his calling in ministry, Jordan plans to pursue a master's degree in Public Policy and a JD Law degree. He wants to continue his work in informing policymakers across the state and work to ensure equitable futures for all Georgians, regardless of circumstances.
