-I assist an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Shoulder and Knee Surgeon both in the clinic, and in the OR. Assist in patient care and education. -Perform initial exams on all patients, present this information to the surgeon, and document parts of the clinical note to facilitate efficiency both for the surgeon, and the clinic. -Educate patients on their condition, the treatment options available, surgical procedures to be performed, post-operative plan of care, and on home exercise programs. -Help with room turnover in the OR, and aid in positioning patients prior to surgery.-I also provide athletic training coverage with various events that St. Luke's Sports Medicine covers.

GLATA Committee on Practice AdvancementThis district committee is comprised of state -based members from all settings, including clinical and emerging practices, with experience in billing, revenue generation, reimbursement, job creation and practice advancement.Areas of personal accountability: 1. Identify and get approval of GLATA COPA members, (1 from each GLATA state) reassess each year and submit to GLATA EB. 2. Identify other members who have an interest in being involved on the committee. No formal approval needed but they don’t have voting privileges3. Coordinate monthly conference call with members4. Assess goals and objectives of GLATA COPA5. Coordinate the GLATA workshop planning including identifying content and speakers, working closely with the GLATA Education and Annual Meeting Planning Committee

- Assist orthopaedic surgeons/non-surgeons during clinic, assuring patients are seen in a timely manner and that the clinic runs smoothly- Increase clinic efficiency through complete patient evaluation, therapeutic exercise instruction, diagnostic test scheduling and complete case presentation to the attending physician - Take patient histories, perform physical tests, order appropriate tests and present patient to Physician- Perform post-operative care including dressing changes and be available to patients for medical questions and concerns- Increase administrative efficiency through preparation of patients charts for surgery, i.e. make sure all required pre-operative and post-operative paperwork is in the chart before it is sent to the surgical center- Understanding of ancillary business of durable medical equipment (DME); ordering and maintaining clinical supplies- Continued education through attendance and participation in monthly sports medicine conferences at St. Luke’s Hospital as well as monthly radiology/imaging conferences with the hospital’s radiologists, four specialized case studies to orthopaedic physicians and medical staff associated with St. Luke’s Sports Medicine - Six week rotation with non-surgical sports medicine physician in charge of all administrative, clinical and patient care duties
