After raising a second round of capital, we focused on growing the revenues organically along with the employee base. We were acquired by Pivotal Software, a publicly traded Canadian company in 2000.

I joined ActaMed when it was less than 50 employees. The company was on the leading edge of healthcare information technology and focused on streamlining the communications among participants in the healthcare industry. After acquiring a subsidiary from United Healthcare and doubling our size, ActaMed was acquired by Healtheon in 1998 and then merged with WebMD in 1999. I left Actamed to move to the next level into a CFO role.
