JJ led the North America Cloud Strategy team to delivery research, benchmarks, and KPI to CIOs and their direct reports, advancing their IAAS (IT as a Service) and PAAS (Platform as a Service) goals. With this level of exposure, JJ was actively involved in VMware’s Cloud SWAT teams that set and aligned VMware’s field, partner, and solution strategies, positioning her for her next role.

To better understand how products move from design to deployment, JJ took on a sales role to see firsthand product adoption cycles. Through this role and related responsibilities, JJ quickly adopted successful sales strategies to meet customers’ expectation and corporate demands. JJ worked as a data center partner for organizations and CIOs pressured to better utilize space and existing investment. Although most of her products were less the $5K, she still worked to sign many ELAs and created over $25M in net-new business. Throughout the years, JJ orchestrated a team to lead next-generation data center transformations via virtualization, cloud, and data center automation. She annually exceeded revenue expectations, participated in product sales strategies, and enabled strategic partnership (CISCO, IBM, EMC & HP) to deliver solutions. During this time, JJ was named to the Top 25 People in Technology by Inside Business Cleveland, published her first book, and started Tech Savvy Women. As a regional thought leader and speaker, JJ presented at more than 500 local and national technology related events.

Shoes and Clothes for Kids (SC4K) is the only non-profit organization in Greater Cleveland providing new shoes, school uniforms, clothes and school supplies throughout the year at no charge to thousands of children in need.SC4K has positively impacted the lives of area children by giving them the pride and confidence that comes from having new shoes, school uniforms, clothes and school supplies. Through our programs we help improve school attendance, in some cases up to 24%.

New to Cleveland, JJ wanted to leverage her global technology experience to advance local technology start-ups. With Team NEO, JJ led efforts to define, build and deliver IT solutions for business outreach while driving IT investments throughout Northeast Ohio. As part of this work, JJ led a great team that created and delivered the first GIS database & online portal to benefit the economic development of the region.

As an adjunct IT professor teaching Microsoft Databases, JJ recognized the gap of internship opportunities for students within the region. She was also familiar with the IT needs of local small businesses and entrepreneurs. Bridging these two needs, JJ created, designed, and managed TechStudents.net, an online portal to connect small businesses seeking affordable technology assistance with tech-savvy college students nationwide. TechStudents.net, the next generation of technology professionals, represented 336 colleges, universities, and vocational schools. It was featured in national and regional publications and online media, including Entrepreneur Magazine, Fast Company’s WeBlog, Ladies Who Launch, Women Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology, and Innovation Philadelphia.

As one of the first 50 employees, JJ started as the training manager creating and delivering content to system administrators.
