About Jean-Jacques Du Plessis

During my career as a senior ERP developer and engineer for multiple organizations, I gained extensive experience in a broad range of industries (supply chain, distribution, financials, manufacturing, petroleum, retail, HR, education, government, and mining). Deep knowledge gained on various projects in the ERP space ranging from new product modules, new ERP implementations, periodic ERP upgrades, and ERP business process re-engineering for Oracle JD Edwards & PeopleSoft customers. As ERP is evolving more towards the cloud, I immersed my skillset in the pure cloud ERP arena as a senior applications developer for Nextworld in recent years.Skills gained in managing client expectations, mapping enterprise systems with business requirements, correlating business drivers with ERP functionality, and understanding technical architectures. I facilitated classroom-based training for a JD Edwards Financials module and JD Edwards Report Writing (including Oracle BI Publisher), as an Oracle training instructor (at the Oracle University). My specialties were: senior ERP analyst developer/consultant with Oracle JD Edwards, Oracle PeopleSoft, and Oracle BI Publisher. Some SAP experience gained in a SAP Netweaver upgrade project for British American Tobacco, managing EDI projects integrating with SAP customers in a SCM environment, as well as, implementation/business processing reengineering projects supporting clients migrating to SAP from JD Edwards or vice versa. I co-authored a thesis on "Adoption of Emerging Technologies into ERP Systems Landscape: A South African study" for my BCom Honours program at the University of Cape Town, which was presented at an international conference by UCT.
