Potelco Inc., Union Pacific Railroad PTC Pole Program July 2016 - Oct 2016Installs 40 and 65 ft steel poles, frames, grounds, and runs co-ax cable which ties antennae and GPS modules into existing huts along the Union Pacific Railroad. Travels across the United States climbing towers and steel/wood poles. Operates line trucks, digger derricks, pole trailers, long hours while maintaining high safety standards. Strives to build a foundation of dedication to safety by conducting tailboard meetings, ensuring work sites are clean and organized, performing tool maintenance, stocking and organizing line trucks and foreman trucks before each work day.

At Northwest Lineman College, I earned certifications for OSHA 1910.269 and First Aid/CPR, and I was a member of the safety council. I’ve received over 750 hours training in the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution and transmission systems. Eighty percent of my NLC training has been outdoors in all different kinds of extreme weather conditions and temperatures climbing poles above 60ft using boot hooks, hand digging holes for pole installation, setting grounds, installing cross-arms and insulators, and loading and unloading tools, supplies and equipment needed at each job site. I completed academic courses on Electrical Systems, Electricity, Rigging, Working on Lines & Equipment, Career Planning & Strategies, Transformers, Metering, OSHA, and others, with a 4.0 GPA.
