Providing a full range of legal services on all domestic and international tax issues to the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, Litigation & Advisory Division, including:- Preparing answers to petitions, replies, motions, and other documents relevant to the case.- Researching, analyzing facts, and writing legal opinions in response to questions.- Providing legal advice and recommendations to IRS agents.

Interacting closely with clients to provide innovative international tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise; providing primary and secondary review of complex international tax returns (including Forms 5471, 8858, and 1118); developing and managing staff; and working closely with partners and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.

Providing international tax advice to businesses in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, including assessing tax strategies and exposure, assisting with international tax issues, maintaining effective relationships with tax authorities, and managing US filing and compliance requirements (including Forms 5471, 8858, and 1118).

* Collaborated with Judge Goldberg and his staff to analyze the exhaustion of a death row prisoner's claims in his federal petition for a writ of habeas corpus* Summarized court proceedings and reviewed the petitioner's claims for federal relief in order to co-author Judge Goldberg's later ruling

* Created and edited documents for discovery in administrative enforcement cases, including requests for admissions, requests for the production of documents, and interrogatories* Drafted settlement agreements after participating in pre-trial settlement conferences* Conducted legal research on areas of federal labor law and drafted memoranda to review and analyze recent developments in the law

* Performed legal research and drafted memoranda on legal issues including appropriate disclosure during discovery and the appropriateness of certain jury instructions given in criminal trials.
