After I passed my Licensure Exam on July 2015, I was first offered by our College Dean a teaching position on our college and since I am a budding professional who is eager to work as soon as possible; I accepted the position thus starting my first career as a Clinical Instructor at my Alma Mater (Medical College of Northern Philippines). I was teaching almost all the major subjects that my course had to offer. It was a fun and good run for my career, and after a year, they assigned me to become the college's research coordinator tasked with approving research titles and seats during panel defenses. Another year went by and I decided to pursue a Clinical Career. Thus, in May 2017, I resigned and walked a different path. It was at De Los Santos Medical Center (DLSMC) where I started my career as a CT/MRI Technologist. I started working there in May 2017, immediately after I resigned from my first job. There I learned that teaching the subject is very different from doing the subject. It was quite a surprise for me since it was my first time in a hospital setting. We work on diverse and large volumes of patients, and having 2 CT machines and 2 MRI machines, in an 8-hour shift, we may encounter somewhere between 20 to 30 patients for both CT and MRI. I had a lot of learnings in this hospital since this laid my foundation in a clinical career. I was thoroughly taught about radiation safety, MR safety, Image Quality, Proper Protocols, Patient Care, Customer management, and, of course, CT, and MRI Scanning. I indeed improved my decision-making, and they had taught me to have grace under pressure. With the help of my colleagues and Consultant Radiologist, they prepared me for an even greater height. It was then in 2019 that I decided to leave my country and have an international exposure. I applied at Al Mouwasat Hospital (AMH) via an agency and got accepted. In August 2019, I resigned at DLSMC and in the same month left the Philippines to continue my career here in Saudi Arabia. As of now, it is already my third year here at AMH, catering around 30 to 40 patients a day using 2 MRI machines. I already learned the language and customs here and had proved to myself that I can easily adapt to varying working environments. I am very happy that as the years went by, I am still learning new things and am open to more improvement.
