About Jason Maldonis

My interests lie at the intersection of software and product development. I think about questions like: What is this product's competitive advantage? and What are the customer-facing implications of using this technology?I'm a product development consultant at i3 Product Development in Madison, WI. I work on connecting up-and-coming IoT products to the internet.Before joining i3, I completed my PhD in Materials Science at UW Madison where I focused on studying metallic glass via simulations and data science. (I can talk your ear off about the way atoms align to create all the interesting properties of glass.) Materials science is an extremely interdisciplinary field, and my work jumped between chemistry, physics, math, and computer science. My work as a consultant has broadened my skillset even further.Startups and entrepreneurship are a particular passion of mine. I volunteer with various startup organizations in Madison, WI and am cofounder of a low-profile startup, Meraki Analytics.Some things I love to talk about are: product development, consulting, trust, glassy materials, esports data analysis, sailing, and deeply-connected notes.You can find examples of my personal projects here: https://github.com/jjmaldonis/projects
