-Selected as a Ryan fellow, a highly competitive & prestigious school leadership fellowship.-Trained at Kellogg Business Institute in Northwestern by top charter school network leaders from Alaine Locke, Noble, KIPP-Writing a playbook which formalizes my learning in the fellowship into a new charter school design.

-Helped write a transformational school grant securing over 5 million dollars in funds, the largest state grant awarded any one school in CCSD. This added 6 intervention positions and 3 instructional coaching positions to Bailey staff. -Trained 3 instructional coaches in Practice Perfect and PLC team support.

-Joined Hickey Elementary school for the turnaround. Exited the turnaround in only 2 years an unprecedented honor.-Designed and coached PLC teams K-5th. Utilized empowering PLC structures that intervened and enriched for students around essential standards. -Studied & practiced tier 1 methods in order to create an innovative tier 1 plan. Became skilled at Whole Brain Teaching, Cooperative Learning, and Teach Like A Champion techniques.

Las Vegas, Nevada Area

-Studied hundreds of model PLC schools and designed a 300 page innovative school model that took PLC work to the next level. My work was recognized and celebrated by Teach For America and Richard Hess author of Cage-Busting teachers & leaders-Designed and led the "Stacked teams model" in which teachers had an extra teacher-development period. I then facilitated on a daily basis practical learning for 7 teams of 8 teachers during the school day. This included regular lesson studies, support/mentorship in classrooms, and professional development.-Created the concept of the "destructible classroom." I taught 2 weeks of lessons on being a mentor/tutor to over 200 students. The stack teams of teachers sat with the students each period and participated in effective teaching techniques. The students were then assigned to classrooms to tutor and mentor students in those classes. We recalled students and teachers back to the destructible classroom once a month for continuing development. This gave us a platform to train students as leaders while also featuring new instructional strategies practically each month. -Created an innovative master schedule that allowed for an RTI/club period during the school day.-Designed and facilitated PLC work for all middle school PLC teams.

-Led a department that increased the pass rate of the proficiency exam by an unprecedented 68% in 2 years.-Studied PLC work and attended PLC institute learning directly from Rick & Becky DuFour.-Designed and developed the entire staff on a schoolwide PLC system in order to inform instruction. This includes helping the whole school answer the 4 critical PLC questions.-Studied the works of Jim Knight to inform his coaching style. Practiced Partnership-Coaching

-Joined Mojave High School as it entered the turnaround zone. Taught 9-12 Biology and Environmental Science.-Introduced to the Professional Learning community concept. PLC leader for the 6 teacher Biology team. Led the team from barely functioning to distinguished practice in just 1 year. -Through PLC action research discovered a method of teaching that greatly increased student achievement called 3-HIR White boarding. -Department chair of the science department the 2nd year. The department had more TFA 1st year teachers than any in the nation. I spent my department prep coaching and developing the teachers.

- 1 year Keller Middle School. Science Olympiad team leader. Earned a distinguished rating on classroom culture my first year. Perfect attendance. (2004-2005)- 3 years J.D. Smith Middle School. 2006 Distinguished title I school. Rated highly in all categories on the CCSD rubric. Led a wide variety of staff wide Professional Development. Led Student council/leadership. Helped students organize elections, assemblies, dances, events. (2005-2008)- 3 years Bailey Middle School. Continued leading Professional Development and co-leading student council. Organized and led a first year School Governance team. Helped write and successfully pass several pieces of schoolwide legislation to increase student achievement. (2008-2011)
