Taught students the principles and practices of telling compelling stories through Machinima. This included teaching narrative structure, film grammar (shot types, rule of thirds, 180 rule etc), giving demonstrations of the course software (Moviestorm, Sims 3 & 4), and providing feedback on editing.I also developed the curriculum, syllabus, schedule, testing materials, and presentations for the course, as well as created templates and best practice examples on the development of pitches, beat boards, story boards, and scripts.

The JET Programme is an international exchange program coordinated by the Japanese Government which hires and trains teachers who move to Japan to teach English to Japanese students in the public education system. In my position on the JET Programme, I assisted in the preparation of English lesson materials for senior high school students in two schools in Hiroshima Prefecture. I also helped to host the English Speaking Society club after school for one of my schools, and assisted in coaching students for English speech competitions outside of class time. I was also responsible for judging a number of speech competitions. In addition, I also helped to facilitate establishing sister-school relationships with international schools.

As a member of the Resource Development team at Community Support Connections, I assisted in coordinating all formal internal and external communications, as well as planning and executing all fundraising and volunteer appreciation events. Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More is a not-for-profit organization that assists seniors and adults with disabilities to live in their homes with independence and dignity with the assistance of over 700 volunteers. In my role as Communications and Events Coordinator, I assisted in writing the copy for the website, newsletter, annual report, presentations, volunteer handbooks and orientation packages, press releases and advertising for the organization. I also assisted with media buying, media relations, managing our social media accounts and attending events in the community to help build awareness of our cause and our charity.I was also responsible for coordinating communications and meetings, as well as writing the minutes and reports for the Community Support Services Network. The network has representation of more than 20 local CSS agencies, each of which provide a range of healthcare and service supports to vulnerable populations.

I was responsible for the attraction, recruitment, orientation, and screening of new volunteers, as well as in providing ongoing training, appreciation, and communication with more than 700 active volunteers across 9 different volunteer programs.During my time in this position, I redesigned and streamlined 5 different volunteer manuals into one attractive document, helped to incorporate a new series of evening volunteer information sessions, and working in partnership with the Resource Development team, was able to successful launch a media blitz that led to the screening of over 100 potential volunteers over a 3 month period.

Primarily responsible for making formal and informal sales presentations to increase membership. Secondary responsibility was to help to increase member retention through check-in phone calls, planning member appreciation events, and offering exceptional customer service on the floor. Excelled in lead generation through community event presentations, cold-calling and referral programs, which averaged 3-5 new referrals from each new member. Exceeded membership sales goals by more than 20% each month.

Provided exceptional customer service to members, playing a part in helping to motivate and encourage them to achieve their fitness goals by providing orientations and work-out program demonstrations. Also handled member concerns and inquiries courteously and promptly. Met and exceeded sales targets on a monthly basis, while also assisting membership sales team by booking appointments with prospective members.

I was responsible for helping to manage the logistical planning of job fair events which would connect H.R. professionals with unemployed youth. I acquired permits, coordinated vendors, pitched attendance of the job fairs to H.R. managers from a variety of industries, managed several client and business databases, wrote press releases and coordinated and executed the promotional strategy, including print advertising placement and budget. While in this position, I created a new website, increased employer participation of job fair events by 68% through relationship building, and achieved a 94% approval and re-attendance rate among employers who attended job fair events.
