Hired to launch and grow the Seattle market for the premium STEAM focused summer camps. Designed and executed deep outreach, established high-touch partnerships with partners, oversaw hiring of founding camp staff team of 18, and managed closely to ensure our inaugural camp location exceeded success metrics for school enrollment weeks against other first year camps.

Jill worked with clients in the education and youth development fields serving as the WA state lead for the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading; provided strategic support to the statewide after school networks for a critical STEM evaluation project through the University of San Diego STEM Next project; and served as project manager for an effort to reduce chronic absenteeism in two school districts and three schools with their attendance teams and the King County Housing Authority (KCHA) and Roadmap Project as key partners.

Jill provided strategic consulting and thought partnership for the Smarter Learning Group to various non-profit organizations, national networks, higher education leaders, foundations, community-based organizations, schools and public agencies.

Founding Executive Director/Network Lead for the Georgia Afterschool Network. • Provided visionary leadership working with nearly 70 partners across the state on the issues of policy, funding and quality in the issues of afterschool and youth development.• Promoted shared leadership and decision-making among key stakeholders to broaden engagement in afterschool and expanded learning policy.• Led the development of Georgia’s new afterschool standards becoming first state to tie these to the new Common Core standards.• Raised over $2.3 million to support efforts to achieve the network’s mission. Managed and led the board approved three-year strategic plan. Prepared annual budgets and negotiated and managed all contracts.

• Served as a senior advisor to Secretary Richard Riley, his Chief Counselor Terry Peterson and Assistant Secretary David Longanecker in the Office of Postsecondary Education.• Briefed the Secretary, Counselor and Asst. Secretary on high priority matters with a particular focus on developing and executing the implementation of strategic public-private partnerships to help expand and improve the Afterschool, GEAR UP, AP programs and Direct Lending.• Designed strategies for effective outreach and dissemination on key education programs.• Served on GEAR UP policymaking committee and as chair of planning and development team of the first forum on Advanced Placement initiatives with 44 state teams. Also, led development team for the Pathways to College Network, working with six foundations, colleges, and other higher education related non-profit organizations to create a network to better serve under-represented and low-income students in preparing them for college.• Assisted in carrying out ground-breaking work associated with the award-winning C.S. Mott and USDOED public-private partnership.
