About Jameson Stafford

I'm an enthusiastic, idealistic technologist, futurist and humanist, and I’ve been fortunate enough to spend my entire adult life in pursuit of these passions. Whether venturing into AI, ecommerce, automation, blockchain, SaaS, filmmaking, or health & longevity, I’ve been a hands-on creator and company builder who’s been able to reach out and touch billions of people. Through my endeavors, I've been blessed to be connected to some of the world's most interesting and prominent people across technology, entertainment, and health industries.I've founded and helped found multiple tech startups (three of which were acquired by public companies) and was instrumental in building and launching a prominent blockchain protocol that had a very successful Initial Token Offering. I've grown and managed US and international teams from zero to over 100 employees, both pre and post-acquisition. I built the first completely API-driven, SaaS ecommerce platform that was used by some of the largest names in business and entertainment. I'm a first-wave digital-native and full-stack engineer who will write code for work or for fun as long as I live. In my spare time, I enjoy making films and music videos. Much like my tech endeavors, I'm completely hands-on, writing, directing, editing, doing visual effects and audio/soundtrack work. I've had the pleasure of directing some very talented actors and musicians, ranging from Sean Penn to Erykah Badu to Kid Rock to Jada Pinkett-Smith.For better or for worse, I love to talk. I've been fortunate to have public speaking engagements ranging from a TedX talk to being featured on the US Bank Speaker Series. I love to teach and mentor, and created a code school that helped change the lives of many young people.I'm a life-long learner and student of logic and philosophy who dives deeply into a wide variety of material, and endeavors to be able to present all sides of a topic in a rational, understandable manner. I love to surround myself with intellectually curious, open-minded, motivated, and perpetually forward-thinking people.

  • Smilesnap
    Cto/Co-Founder
    Smilesnap 2020 - 2022
    Castle Rock, Colorado, Us
SmileSnap is the original virtual consultation SaaS platform tailored for the dental and orthodontic industries. Launching the year before Covid put us in a unique position to help practices continue to stay open and onboard new patients and service existing patients seeking follow up visits that were of a visual nature. The business and product grew rapidly, thanks in no small part to a ringing endorsement from the American Association of Orthodontists, and deep partnerships with large DSOs and power users. As the CTO I architected, authored the patent, and built the SaaS platform, which was installed as a patient-facing widget or a stand-alone landing page, as well as a patient/lead aggregator portal that permitted prospective patients to submit "bid requests," that would flow into targeted providers' dashboards where they could choose to engage the lead or pass. I personally developed the initial web and iOS/Android apps prior to bringing on product, back-end and mobile teams. As the product grew, the feature-set expanded dramatically, including live Telehealth, ecommerce/payments, and extensive patient management features.SmileSnap is running in about 10% of all orthodontic offices in the US, as well as many in Australia, Canada, Japan, and South America, and we constantly expand our footprint in general dentistry. Many of the top orthodontists, dentists and dental service organizations in the world have used and/or continue to use SmileSnap. Most importantly, we've helped hundreds of thousands of patients submit millions of photos to get the best treatment possible in the most convenient and transparent way possible.
  • Catalytic
    Svp Corporate Development
    Catalytic 2017 - 2020
    Chicago, Il, Us
*** Acquired by PagerDuty (NASDAQ: PD) ***Catalytic is a low-code/no-code AI/automation platform that deployed "bots" to make decisions via predictive ML, and perform processes and tasks quickly and accurately. The platform was deployed at several of the top Fortune 500 companies, and we raised $42 million from top VC, including NEA, Intel, Redline, Pritzker, Boldstart and More. The team and our investors were passionate about the company mandate: "people-first automation" - putting the power of the platform in the hands of the business user to reduce or eliminate low-value tasks so they could focus on true value creation for their organizations.I worked on early versions of Catalytic/Pushbot with Founder & CEO Sean Chou long before there were was funding or a team. As I helped the product take shape, I joined a handful of talented people and we built a truly amazing company. In my role of SVP of Corporate Development (although I truly wore many hats, including product dev & marketing) I actively interfaced with our VCs and their corporate LPs to help shape the product and identify opportunities in very large enterprises. I spent much of my time on Sand Hill Road, and traveling the country to work with senior-level operations teams.Catalytic developed AI-powered automations for Blue Cross, Pfizer, Edward-Elmhurst Hospitals, MetLife, Hartford, Fannie Mae, the FDA, USAA, GE, P&G, Pfizer, Disney, Atlantic Records, Walmart, and many others. Due to the size and compliance requirements of our customers, we were held to a very high standard of data security and reliability, particularly in the medical, insurance and government industries.
  • Gochain
Head Of Marketing & Blockchain Evangelist
    Gochain 2017 - 2019
    Reno, Nevada, Us
*** $23 million Initial Token Offering (ITO on Binance, Kucoin) ***GoChain is the world's fastest and most energy efficient blockchain protocol. We provide 100x performance improvement and 100% compatibility with Ethereum, while also reducing energy consumption by orders of magnitude. GoChain pioneered the PoR (Proof of Reputation) model, limiting transaction signing opportunities to established, trusted entities. We've also developed many cutting edge tools to support & enhance the protocol, including upgradable smart contracts, decentralized identity framework, GoFS (blockchain file storage), and our Microsoft Azure partnership.I worked with GoChain Founder Travis Reeder to create the GoChain foundation, launch the mainnet, foster initial adoption, and engage new node signers. I created numerous videos, white papers, one-sheets, and presentations to generate interest and educate the community on the power of GoChain. I attended many global blockchain conferences and gave talks on the security and scalability of the protocol. I assisted with the launch and deployment of the $GO token, the initial token offering (ITO), and eventual trading on many exchanges, including Binance and Kucoin. Later, I helped launch many popular supporting platforms, including Zeromint, Etherprise, Chainparency, and TurboWallet (an ecommerce-focused app to enable blcokchain transactions).GoChain's node-signing partners include many brand-name and sustainability-focused companies, including Sling TV, Dish Networks, Lenovo, University of Pennsylvania, and dozens of others. Through direct implementation, or the GoChain-Microsoft Azure Enterprise marketplace, the protocol has been used in numerous, diverse applications, including digital concert ticketing, web commerce transactions, supply chain certification, age verification, research data cataloging, food stock tracking, and even voting verification for a national election.
  • Elevate Blue
    Founder/Chief Entrepreneur In Residence
    Elevate Blue 2014 - 2018
Elevate Blue is a startup accelerator on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. We've invested heavily in entrepreneurs and engineers, creating a highly unique tech scene high up in the Sierra Mountains with incredible proximity to Silicon Valley. We provide business/product ideation, engineering & architecture teams, legal/IP protection, product launch support, distribution and marketing. After living/working in the San Francisco (SOMA) startup scene, I felt there was a significant opportunity to build a similar environment on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe without all the challenges of the Bay Area, and California in general, but with easy access to the city and investor community and the ability to tap underserved regional resources. We were able to assemble an incredible group of evangelists, investors and operators to bring the vision to life. We even built our own on-site code school, Code Tahoe, to create a steady pipeline of local engineering talent. There was tremendous excitement in the local region and in the Bay Area, and at the peak we had grown a bustling startup scene in one of the most magical places on earth. Companies that were born of, or had operations at, Elevate Blue included SambaTV, Catalytic, Code Tahoe, Likemoji, KickParty, PetSurf, and many others. We were deeply involved in the University of Nevada and Sierra Nevada College (now part of University of Nevada), and held major recruiting and pitch events with Middlebury College and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

*** Acquired by Rainmaker Systems (NASDAQ: RMKR) ***GrowCommerce was one of the first cloud-based ecommerce companies for digital music and merch distribution, and the first to operate completely as an API/platform-as-a-service. • Iventa Corp
    Ceo/Founder
    Iventa Corp 2002 - May 2009
*** Acquired by Commerce Planet (OTCUS: CPLT) ***Iventa was the first SaaS ecommerce platform, and the first to use of APIs extensively. We built many of the features of Shopify and Zuora today - full-featured ecommerce platform with product/inventory management, multi-variate product attributes/pricing, digital/downloadable products, recurring subscription payments, integrated shipping providers UPS, DHL, FedEx, and many other features, including web builder, content management, email delivery & tracking, marketing, promo codes, and a streaming media player linked to tracking and downloads. We built out data center footprints in LA and Austin, and established offices and teams across the US and the globe.I created the software in my West Hollywood apartment, overlooking the 9000 building on Sunset, our eventual HQ. I wrote the code and designed the UI and most of the websites. I started with a few well-known musicians, but traction really hit with Metallica. I often worked from their HQ/studio and built every feature that powered Metallica.com (website & store), MetClub.com (subscription/fan club), and MetOnTour (think "Twitter for Bands"). For at least a decade nearly everything Metallica was built by Iventa. This led to broad distribution in music and film, followed by basic ecommerce and subscription management clients.
