A recognized leader in the distributed fiber optic sensing industry, JJ has been involved in some of the sector’s most significant milestones, from projects and technology development, to standards and industry organization. His global team covers infrastructure monitoring for a wide variety of industries including rail, highways, pipelines, seismic, mining, telecom and electric grid. His team has been involved in over a 100,000 miles of projects spanning the globe with the largest infrastructure operators and contractors. He started his career with QinetiQ plc, where OptaSense was founded in 2007, which was acquired by Luna Innovations Inc in 2020 (NASDAQ: LUNA) to form the world’s largest fiber optic sensing firm. JJ co-founded the Fiber Optic Sensing Association (FOSA) in Washington DC in 2017, which now includes around 30 member organizations from the industry. He was chairman of the Association in 2019, currently sits on the board and chairs the public policy committee.
