In my role as membership and communications director, I am responsible for leading a variety of communications and marketing efforts designed to promote MCN events and publications, inform our nonprofit and business members, and provide support for individual nonprofits and the sector at large. This includes and serving as project lead and manager for the organization's first website and job board redesign in nearly a decade. I am also responsible for leading the organization's robust membership programs -- both for nonprofits and the businesses that interact with them. This includes providing the resources and support needed by existing members and leading recruitment efforts to add to MCN's already strong membership base. In addition, I take pride in creating, maintaining, and tracking annual membership and communications budgets, producing a wide array of organization collateral (print and digital), and nurturing relationships with MCN's cost-saving partners.

In my position at MCN, I manage the organization's extensive event and publication marketing throughout the year, including promotional email campaigns, print marketing collateral design and production, and event-related social media outreach. In my role as Marketing Manager, I also manager our Associate Member program, a membership initiative aimed an connecting businesses and consultants who work closely with nonprofits throughout the state with our nonprofit members.

• Create and execute detailed marketing/publicity plans for military history, aviation, home improvement and music titles published by Zenith Press, Voyageur Press and Creative Publishing international (CPi).• Generate all written and electronic press materials for above-mentioned category titles, including customized press kits (press releases, author Q & As, sample chapter/excerpts, etc.) and web copy creation• Manage and create content for the Zenith Press blog, Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as assist authors in creation and maintenance of book-related web and social media initiatives• Develop relationships with local and national media regarding relevant imprints and individual title publicity, including regular follow-up and targeted news release mailings• Manage marketing and advertising budgets for Zenith Press on an imprint and per-title basis• Develop and implement print and online advertising plan based upon individual titles needs • Schedule and coordinate author interviews and events: book readings, book signings, special events• Track marketing efforts to corresponding sales and web activity on both an imprint and product-specific basis

• Coordinator all title publicity for Redleaf Press back and frontlist titles• Write marketing copy for web site, back covers, and retail and trade catalogs• Design promotional flyers, sell sheets, exhibitor signage, and other misc. graphics projects• Maintain and direct Redleaf Press’ course adoption program, compile contact database, create and distribute course-adoption marketing pieces, fulfill exam copy requests• Attend national and regional trade shows (early childhood education)• Manage the Redleaf Press annual trade catalog, including budget, schedule, copy-writing, as well as work closely with the production department to coordinate printing and mailing• Manage quarterly Family Child Caring newsletter, including copywriting and designing layout, and coordination of printing and mailing• Develop and implement advertising plan based upon individual titles needs and annual budget • Full design and placement of all print advertising
