My work mostly entails consulting related to distributed energy resource and beneficial electrification market and policy analysis in the Northeastern US. I recently led SEA's policy analytics (including the company's Eyes and Ears regulatory, legislative and policy tracking services), and now lead distributed energy or beneficial electrification-related custom consulting projects, typically for public sector clients. I also lead SEA's annual support for the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) and Distributed Generation Board (DG Board) for the annual development of Ceiling Prices for the Rhode Island Renewable Energy Growth (REG) program.

Served as the senior analyst for the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) project, and as a U.S. Department of Energy SunShot Initiative-funded researcher specializing in solar PV and distributed energy resource policy. Research products have been featured and cited by a wide variety of national, local and trade media outlets, national laboratories, non-governmental organizations, the Clean Energy Ministerial (which includes the governments of several of the world’s developed countries), and in the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners' (NARUC) Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Compensation Manual.

Led the organization's regulatory, legislative and utility rates analysis, assisted with developing the organization's regulatory strategy and occasionally provided expert testimony to the North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC). Served on a core Policy team that defeated multi-pronged effort by anti-renewable energy interests to pass HB 298 (2013), which would have repealed North Carolina's Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS). The bill was defeated in the legislative committee chaired by the bill's own sponsor, and the industry created more than $1 billion in in-state revenue the following year.

Served as consultant to the U.S. EPA's ENERGY STAR Labeling and Residential team. Developed third-party certification procedures and assisted with the development and energy analysis associated with new ENERGY STAR labeled products.
