In April 2004, the Housing Department separated from Sheffield City Council to become an arms length management organisation known as Sheffield Homes.My role of as a Health & Safety advisor at Sheffield Homes involved the following duties:•Act as CDM Coordinator on £600M decent homes programme throughout the housing stock•Undertaking onsite health and safety inspections & audits, identifying any hazards within the workplace and making appropriate recommendations. •Reviewing monthly audits ensuring all actions have been carried out.•Providing on site assistance and advising employees of the appropriate actions to eliminate or minimise risks. •Carrying out and assist in the implementation of risk assessments and method statements.•Carryout and assist with COSHH assessments.•Review other contracts risk assessments & method statements, to identify any additional recommendations.•Carryout Health & Safety inductions, highlighting all key areas of the company’s Health & Safety policy.•Carryout monthly safety bulletins and toolbox talks, ensuring all staff are updated on current Health & Safety issues, new regulations & company policies.•Attend client site safety, project and CDM meetings. •Investigate any accidents incidents or dangerous occurrences
